Below are student examples of portraits. The detail in these drawings is extraordinary. The focus in Drawing I was shading using graphite, while Drawing II was focusing on color and skin tone using color pencil or pastel.

Hear is a simple circle shape head with dimensions to consider when drawing a portrait. It is important to know the proportions of the head so you can understand how to measure the body when working with the figure.
